About the SwapNeat Beta Programme

The mission of SwapNeat Inc. is to make “tagging” a part of every computer user’s day-to-day data management routine. We have developed the SwapNeat metadata platform to:

simplify the tagging process
deliver integrated tagging guidance to users of all skill levels
allow users to share tag vocabularies to reduce the burden of tag vocabulary development
maintain the integrity of users’ metadata over time

The SwapNeat platform is driven by SwapNeat Metadata Studio, powerful tagging software for home computers featuring integrated tagging advice and guidance. The software is tightly integrated with our metadata sharing and management platform via the SwapNeat Community Website.

The SwapNeat Community provides users with the means to find and download publicly-available tag vocabularies suited to particular subject matter or workflows. Users can publish their own tag vocabularies, discuss the development of tag vocabularies with other users, and accept tag vocabulary modules from contributors to build large, modularized tag vocabulary frameworks.

There are no ongoing monthly subscription fees, and SwapNeat Metadata Studio is modestly priced to encourage broad consumer adoption.

The first phase of the SwapNeat Beta Programme is a “closed beta”: we are only accepting a small number of users for this first phase, and the feature set is limited to tagging photos (music and video features are not enabled). This is done to ensure that the beta programme management processes run smoothly when we broaden the beta test to a wider group, in the “open beta”.

In the closed beta, we are looking for a diverse but limited cross-section of users to participate. Please click “Register” when you are ready to sign up.
